    song about baking a cake?

Hi. This is my first time to the list. I've been listening to a radio station that plays mostly disco in the afternoons, and they're really fond (apparently) of this one song that they never identify. It's a female singer, starts out with just strings and vocals, then vamps into disco beats, horns, etc. in the 2nd verse. The only lyrics I can get this far go something like, "Someone left the cake out in the rain...I don't think that I can take it, 'cos it took so long to bake it, And I'll never see that recipe again." Voice sounds a little like Andrea True, but I don't think it's her. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    I did once .
Right when Donna 's song was riding high too. I was living in a flat just above Moby Dick's ... a bar in the Castro .... it's still there too ..... and I baked a cake . I set it in the window sill to cool and went about my business ....and damn if it didn't start raining ....and soaked up that cake !!!! When I found it ... I thought ...watcha know ..... just like the damn song !!!! :P

I wasn't as distraught as Donna was about it though ... it didn't take that long to make it ...and I still had the recipe .......

And can anyone please explain to me how you put the image into the post? It is driving me crazy.

I see the image tag, but how do you get the picture in?

    Thanks.

When I saw the title of this thread "song about baking a cake". The first song that came to my mind was an old 50's song called "If I Knew You Were Coming I'd Have Baked A Cake" by Eileen Barton. :o

I think the cake is a metaphor for her state of mind. I see wha t you mean though.
