At the rate at which record companies are taking CDs *out* of print and record stores are going out of business, I wouldn't expect to see new reissues of material like this at all. If her material ever gets put out again, I would think it would be download-only like iTunes.

You'll have to ask BMG that question, since they own the RCA catalog. Do they have a good track record for re-releasing old soul/R&B albums onto CD?

Well, Apple's iTunes has the full 9-minute version of "Nighttime Fantasy" available for download.

As far as I know, this is the only place the full length version is currently available.

Still, BMG/Sony could release even a budget compilation of songs (heck, they did one for Andrea True!!!)

It's not like she has a lot of hits under her belt besides "Turn the beat around" and the very groovy "Hold Tight". Maybe it's just the newbie within me talking, but that's her best work unless somebody else can prove otherwise with some suggestions.

Well, you need to check out "Never Gonna Let You Go," the title track from her debut LP. This is a great track.

Also, "Wonderland of Love" is good as are her two tracks on Profile Records.

"Nighttime Fantasy" from the "Nocturna" soundtrack is pure disco, quite catchy and really unlike her earlier hits.

I found "Wonderland of Love" on "The Disco Love Collection", a comp from Universal. The 12" version of "Hold Tight" is on "Big 12 Inches: More, More, More", and an extended version of "Night Time Fantasy" I found on "Sounds Like 54", a comp from the UK. This version is different from the US 12" I have, but still showcases that great voice and energy.

Since there have been no releases of VSR's lps or singles on cd, I have tried to piece together what I can.

It's probably the version on the Nocturna soundtrack. Both the 12" and soundtrack versions are about 9 minutes long, but they are different mixes.

There is a Very rare promotional song by Vickie Sue Robinson on youtube Vicki Sue Robinson - Baby Now That I've Found You. You have to check it out posted from a guy from Italy.

The old Foundations 60s song. I heard this song ages ago but no one remembers it. For a long while I thought I imagined it since no one ever heard of a disco version of that song. I didn't know who it was by just a female or female group doing a disco version. I stumbled on to it the other day and nearly died. You have to check it out!

I guess this Vicki Sue song was not very well known to the masses of the day, but it was played at every Disco I remember back in the day. That's why I picked up the 7" and used to play it all the time, it was the first record I ever heard of Vicki(e) Sue, notice how they later dropped the 'e' from her name here in my copy I posted to the Site's Disco Vaults a long time ago....
