If you guys are able to ID these short clips, it would be much appreciated. Its all I have:
Take a little love...gimme some gimme some - this was in the middle of some medley mix, so I don't know if the percussion was layered on top. It sounds so familiar.
Disco Break - I taped this off of an episode of SCTV. Unfortunately there was no music section. It sounds like Erotic Drum Band, but believe me, I've checked out every mix and remix of their Plug Me To Death/Action 78 era stuff, and its not by them.
Disco Groove - this was the theme tune to one of the shows on SCTV. Not sure if this was an original or if they took it from an artists' record. They didn't have a huge production budget, so they tended to take music from various records and incorporate them into their shows.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you mean the songs or the percussion fade out, the song is "Take a little love" by Liquid Pleasure, I've heard the percusion piece a bunch of times on the original song, thought it was Sultana but is not, :(Originally Written by Disco Funk

Hey thanks for that. I knew it sounded familiar. I dug through my stuff and found the track on 45. The percussion build up is on the record, but there is other percussion layered on top.Originally Written by Mixmachine
Thanks. I will take a listen to their stuff and hopefully find the track. That period sounds about right since that sound sample was taken from an SCTV era episode from around 1979/80 and they played a bunch of TK stuff like Get of Your Aaah & Dance, Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me, and even Do What You Wanna Do.With regards to DISCO BREAK:,it sounds as if it may be a track from the 2 following disco groups: KAT MANDU-T.K.DISCO LABEL ,OR mantus

Update: I re-listened to my copy of The Break by Kat Mandu, which I downloaded off Napster years ago. I also had a shorter version on that TK Hot Productions CD. While the cowbell does sound similar to the above sample, and they both sound similar to Erotic Drum Band's Plug Me To Death, the disco break wasn't in there. I'm hoping the album will have other tracks with similar percussion that might yield the track I'm looking for.
I listened to my Mantus Collection CD from Unidisc, and it also features similar percussion breaks to the Erotic Drum Band stuff too, but the above sample wasn't in there.
Are there any other TK related artists that could have put out a track with percussion breakdown in the sample I posted? I'm assuming the record would have been produced sometime after 1976. Perhaps someone might recall any TK compilations or samplers from the late 70s that included Do What You Wanna Do, Get Off Your Aaah And Dance, and Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me? I know there was a disco dance lesson record that had the above tracks, but the only other track they had was Get Down Tonight by KC & The Sunshine Band.

Hi Disco Funk-I remember
watching SCTV faithfully
every week in the 80's and
there was a bit with Eugene
Levy where they used the
break from "Savage Lover"
by The Ring-but I'm not sure
this is what you are looking for.
Thom
Thanks for the help, but unfortunately that wasn't the source of the disco break or the Mel's Rockpile theme. I do remember that Levy sketch, where I think he's playing some kind of sex therapist.Originally Written by thommy2458

I checked out the 1979 Kat Mandu album, and while it featured some nice percussion breakdowns, the disco break sample above was not in any of the tracks.

I have a Unidisc 12 inch with the "85 remixes of The Break and it is not there.
There is a Disconet version of The Break that is over 10 minutes long and I don't know how that is mixed. There is usually a copy to buy available on eBay.
There is also a second Kat Mandu album that has a song called New World Break, but I have not heard that song either.
I agree it has alot of the sound from the breakdown of The Break. The Break is one of my favorite instrumentals and I am surprised I didn't catch that the first time you posted this clip.
