Got a lot of mid 80's Russian hi-nrg-slash-Mc Hammer wannabe stuff but no real 70's disco. Alla Pugatjova, the Russian all-purpose Diva, apparently had a disco-themed album out, or did she?

Hammer? hmm you might be referring to Karmen? More like a mix of Dead or Alive with Rick Astley and some Vanilla Ice. Strong Eurobeat influenced music.

Russia had a strong Schlager culture, but around 1988 a lot of these Electropop and Eurodisco bands appeared, similar in sound to Modern Talking and other Eurodisco Italo stuff, but not quite the same.... I think the most influential was unforgettable and very popular teen band Laskoviy May with their teenage orphan singer Yuriy Shatunov, songs of Laskoviy May are now cult classics, and are still being played, mixed and remixed. People seem to still love those songs.

Other big bands of late 80's early 90's were Mirage, Kombinazia, Freestyle, Stalker/Andrey Derzhavin, Forum, Malenkiy Prince, Roma Zhukov, Shokolad, Electroclub, Levostoronee Dvizhenie, Electroniy Malchik (who even sang a song about Dieter Bohlen not smoking).... and a lot of other more obscure bands. There were also pop singers who had somewhat Eurodisco songs like Sofia Rotaru or Igina Alegrova

you might have heard of Igon Nikovaev, a Russian singer-composer who composed some songs for Alla Pugacheva and many others, as well as had big hits of his own. He also composed a song that he sang with both Lena Philipsson and Lisa Nilsson of Sweden in late 80's. It was called Aquarius 99. People in Scandinavia might have heard it.

Here is video of Igor Nikolaev and Lena Ph duet, composed by Igor Nikolaev
YouTube - Lena Philipsson & Igor Nikolajev - Aquarius

And you're right, there wasn't much real 70's disco, except for Siniy Iniy, can't remember who sang it though, but it was a cover. Soviet culture then was Schlager based. Maybe if Russia had a producer like Frank Farian, he would have brought more black influenced music there like he did in Germany heh heh heh

    anyway, just wanted to comment.

There's the ABC Diskoteka lp, with 2 side-long medleys of instrumental versions of Alla Pugatjova stuff. Both sides end with c 5 min worth of excellent cosmic-style percussion passages and spaced out effects. I've played this album during the past few months a couple of times at gigs and people have come up wanting to now what the tracks are.
Overfitting Disco (google it) has started digging up rare Russian boogie things and what has been unearthed do sound fantasic. Check the tracks out!
