    Euro vs trance

Is there a difference btw euro music (e.g. La Bouche, Culture Beat) and what is now called trance? (e.g. Cascada). They're both heavy on the synth. The only difference I can see is that the euro sound uses rappers where the trance doesn't.

Trance is such a misused term that it's lost a lot of it's meaning... but essentially, trance is often instrumental, very repetitive and hypnotic, not very big on melodies. Euro is essentially fast dance pop, with conventional song structure (just very cheesy ;) ). All dance music now is heavy on the synth.
