Was a big hit in South Africa, also Down among the dead men which I have on 12". Vanda & Young also wrote all John Paul Youngs hits.

I like that track but unfortunately it bombed in the UK and didn't even crack the top 40 in 1978. 'Waiting for a train' was a much bigger hit reaching the Top 10 in '83.

I had the two first Flash and the Pan albums and I remember and like "Down among the dead men". It wasn't a hit here though. "Hey St. Peter" and "Make your own cross" were more known, but always in the club circuit (were barely heard in radio).

I remember sharing a secret "cult" of this band with a highschool friend. Basically, because of the keyboards and that strange voice... We loved "Walking in the rain", it was so strange! You keep waiting and nothing happens"! :) :) Then Grace Jones recorded it and made it a hit, but I liked Harry Vanda's version better...

Now this band is remembered for "Ayla", a much later club and radio hit, but these two records had their gems like "Atlantis calling", "Media man", etc.

Nano, where in Argentina do you live? Buenos Aires?
I have friends in Lanus, Banfield and Adruge.
Went clubbing quite a lot. I liked Buenos Aires News, Barfly and Pasha. Went to some nightclub by El Rio but I can't remember the name. It had 4 rooms all playing different music.

Yes, I live in the D.F. (Capital Federal). I don't go dance anymore, I'm afraid.
Just hang out in friends' houses and listen to the same ol' records.
Pachá of course is excellent. Maybe the place you don't remember is Arcos Del Sol. Was it below a train bridge? Every room had a different name, one was called Coyote. Had a free flipper at the door. I'm talking, like, ten years ago.
Now we have the Creamfields fest once every year. Sadly, in Dec 2004 we had a tragedy here (almost 200 people dead at a rock concert place), henceforth many pubs and dance clubs had closed due to an inforcement of security measures that deemed those places bad business.
But we still like to party until morning.
