In Disco-era I lived behind big big Iron Curtain, in cold Siberia and I'm till now don't understand how disco records run up to me - in soviet shops was possible to buy only last Breznev's speeches :o but with a little help from CIA :D I has all new releases very quickly

Oh man what a good topic. I was in Germany at the very beginning of Disco 1974-1975 (US Army).

heres a heres a question DISCOMANIAC whilst in germany did you ever come across a group called the i.g's they were made up of u.s soldiers, think they entertained the troops,they recorded too and had two singles in the u.k around 75 that bombed but today are really sought after i.e $100 apiece, i found one the other day real cheap,would love to know more about them, check the group name how clever was that :lol:

I lived in Farborough in Hampshire England. I loved the who disco jazz funk scene. I have returned on several ocassions out of curioisty, but un like the town, i have moved on. The memories, music, my 12"s and LP's however, will always remain with me

Started in clubs of Norfolk, VA 1974... moved to Mobile. AL where I also visited clubs in Biloxi, MS and Panama City, FL... then moved to and finished the era in New Orleans, LA 1982.

I also did a short stint of DJ'ing in Cedar Rapids, IA 1977

Well... as for what they say? Some people think it's cool but others don't even know what disco is (those young whippersnappers) :lol:
