I remember when Japanese athletes entered, ''You Should Be Dancing'' was played. :) A Japanese TV broadcaster related during the ceremony, ''The Olympic host said to us that songs now being played were selected as world-famours all over the world in 70s & 80s. The young and old alike feel at home with them.'' Right on, Disco!

For the United States, I know they were playing Aretha Franklin. I think it was "Think," but I wasn't paying that much attention (this section of the opening ceremonies can be a bit tedious to watch! :o ).
