Hey Marky. When you say Rock Steady, are you or the artist referring to a musical style popular in Jamaica in the mid 1960s?
I'm listening to the latest No Doubt. Wow, this is damn good pop/rock. Anyone else listened to this CD?
Co-producers include Nellee Hooper (5 tracks including the GREAT "Hella Good"); Sly & Robbie (2); Ric Ocasek (2 with that Cars feel) and one by William Orbit and one by Prince. Boy, I'm digging this. All cuts are good to excellent-- some very Garbage in sound, but better than the last Garbage CD, I think.
Anyone else like this? Nano, Zeca, any of the other "closet" rockers????

Find them and destroy them!
Is the Prince track an original or a cover of his old stuff?
I hope it's a cover because I'd hate to have to buy a No Doubt cd....

Deep Beat,
The Prince track is a new one (at least to me) titled "Waiting Room". Not the best cut on the CD, by any means, so probably NOT ESSENTIAL, if ya hate No Doubt. (I personally, am so grateful that a currently popular rock group (cover of Rolling Stone types) is making delectable pop/rock songs with NO RAPS or HIP-HOP production--thank gawd for Garbage and No Doubt and Ben Folds and sometimes Lenny Kravitz and Pet Shop Boys and Counting Crows and Sheryl Crow and Moby and a few more. Intelligent, catchy, fun pop/rock SONGS with melodies and lyrics. Songs that you can sing!!!! Who knew????
I love em. And last night after I posted this, Conan O'Brien just happened to have Gwen Stefani & the Boys as guests and they sang my fave "Hella Good".

Yup, I hate No Doubt and Gwen Stefani in particular. But I hope this doen't make you think less of me
