Can anyone help me with these 3 nice songs?

    Hello everybody!

Can any body help me to identify one or all these 3 sound clips? They are from 1979-80!

    They can be found here:

I’ve tried over the years to identify them – but with no success so I turn to you and your great knowledge!

    Thank you and many greetings!

    sample 40

really sounds like Howard Hewitt, either solo or with Shalamar. Sample 2, i'm almost sure, is an old song by the Emotions called "Love is Passing By" (or maybe "Life is Passing By"). I seem to remember hearing it on an old album called "Sunbeam", so if you see that album in the bargain bins, try it out. Sample 3 sounds like Dionne Warwick, from one of the albums she did for Arista Records, but that's just my educated guess.

    Thanks ol'skinflint ! :D

Yes the last one really sounds like Dione! Worth checking out!
Hope that any one else will give these clips a listen!

The 3rd sample is indeed Dione Warwick, "We Never Said Goodbye" from her 1980 LP entitled "No Night So Long" The 1st sample could be Howard Hewitt ( I doubt if it's a Shallamar song though) or it could be Howard Huntsberry and Klique, or maybe Webter Lewis who has a song called "Give Me Some Emotion" and I agree with ol'skinflint, that sample 2 sounds like the Emotions.

    Thank you qdearl!

The first song seems indeed to be Webster Lewis and “Give me some emotion” that charted Billboard in 1980!
Many thanks!! I´ve been looking for these for a long time! :D :D :D

I will check no 2. Emotions released a song in 1978 entitled ” Time Is Passing By” Could be…

    Grateful Kalmar :D

The Webster Lewis track appears to be the most obscure. I just heard a cut on the radio from that Lp in 1980 that featured DJ Rodgers.
That sample was very much in the mold of Loose Changes' Rising cost of love from the previous year.
I checked the Emotions Sunbeam album and that's definitely not it.

Ok, I'm home now, I have the Webster Lewis LP and it is the song "Give Me Some Emotion" the LP is "8 For the 80's" released in 1979 on CBS records. 8) I also have the Emotions "Sunbeam" LP and I'm afraid "Time is Passing By" is not the correct song :-? (but I still think it's the Emotions.....) So I'll keep looking :D

Thank you so much both qdearl ,eddie and all other who try to help! :D :D
This site and forum is really a great source and it is fantastic to be able to identify songs that, as in this case, had been dear to me but without any clue regarding artist etc.

Let´s hope that we can find the last one!

    Greetings

Sorry Eddie, didn't see your post up there

Now that you mention that cut w/ DJ Rogers I had to go listen to it :)

....Nice, very nice.....(this is what happens, when you buy records faster than you listen to them...) 8)
