Redlight, Don't Give It Up and the ballad Let Me Be Your Woman are tops in my book.

Linda has had her share of great house tunes the last few years...I Hear Music, Philly Groove, Back To My Roots and most notably, her cover of Sharon Ridley's Changin' on West End Records...the Tom Moulton mix of this is FABULOUS!!! (and I try not to use that word often  )

My favorite hasn't been mentioned yet. "Never gonna stop"- It's a midtempo stepper. I also obviously enjoy "Runaway Love' quite a bit.

"you are, you are" always been a fave song of mine, also "shoot your best shot" is punchy and great. wonderful example of that 79/80 disco sound. "runaway love" will always be classic. never been fond of "if my friends..."

Lest we forget... From now on

One of my best moments from when I used to DJ was playing at a magazine launch in London a few years ago on a hot, hot summers evening in a venue where air conditioning left a lot to be desired and everybody (understandably) elected to hang out in the street to get some air. I was feeling pretty lousy and hot as I spun some pretty decent tunes. Well... I put on Linda's 'Don't give it up' and that hot old joint was suddenly heaving with people going crazy! The gig really went well from that point on.

    Also love
    I just wanna
    Gypsy lady (12" mix)
If you want my love to last
    Runnaway Love

It's nice to see that she is still out there doing new stuff a lot of it out of the UK. Her version of Changin' on West End Records out of New York is a nice version, especially since I cannot find the Sharon Ridley for love nor money and only have a just about ok MP3 from the internet.

    *****

These Linda Clifford songs from 1977 had until now escaped me :

& just for fun , were it not Linda singing these songs, who could you hear doing them in her place? I hear a different style in each song with each being suitable for two certain artists .

Anybody else? , ( will we agree? )

    YOU CAN DO IT

    FROM NOW ON

Re: LINDA CLIFFORD" SO MANY GREAT TUNES WHATS YOUR FAVORITE

In my collection I have 'You Can Do It' by Frankie Valli & 'From Now On' by Lou Rawls. It seems that Linda C likes to do songs previously sung by males. 'From Now On' was written by Philly legend Bunny Sigler who wrote some classics in his time like FNO, but how come the stuff he wrote for Pattie Brooks' 'Party Girl' LP was so naff?

    The artist being borrowed
most from in YOU CAN DO IT would be: Donna Summer

my favorite Linda Clifford song has ALWAYS been Curtis Mayfield's "You Are, You Are". Her vocal is passionate, the song itself is great. But I love "Shoot Your Best Shot" and "Let Me Be Your Woman" also.
