Lenny White-Didn't know about love (till I found you)

I just bought the album Attitude which was originally issued on Elektra in 1983. It was reissued in 2002 on Wounded Bird out of upstate NY.
I've heard his Astral Pirates album and its too Return to Forever type fusion for me. But this aforementioned cut is about 6 minutes and very breezy. It kind of bridges the gap between jazz/soul, retro-nuevo and boogie disco.
It's too bad Karyn White didn't do something that sounded like this.
Did anyone spin this back in the day?
    Opinions?

This is one of my favorite songs, it got decent radio play when it was released in the NY/NJ area and it gets a decent response anytime I play it at a party (at least when there is an older crowd)

    Plus...

... There is also a 12" version (cut 'n' paste style) which can be found on "Club Connection 2" available through Amazon UK at:

I'm pretty conservative-I don't like remixes especially if they are strangely edited or take-away from the main version of the song.

If it is elongated with exclusive music that was faded out on the Lp version, then I'm interested. But outside of a Salsoul 12inch, I get highly disappointed.

    Thanks though for sharing info.

The 12" is not a remix, I don't have the LP so I'm not sure if it's longer than the LP (it's 6:07) but it's the version I hear anytime I hear it played anywhere :D

    Not too kind

I should have been nicer: the remix is actually pretty good. I should have called it an extended version rather than a remix.

What I meant with cut and paste style is that some bits are extended by repeating them. The best version is the album version, but that is just my opinion.
