actually, we have a Swedish eqiuivalent to this. It's called "Albert & Herbert". It's actually one of my favourite Swedish tv series and I think it's far better than the Brittish version!
I'm sorry but that's the truth!!!!
The two of them live in Gothenburg, they own some hopeless bric-a-brac store and an old sick horse.

The father is dark haired and rather...eh, obese and the son is blond and has a lot of girls. GREAT tv series!

Karin, is that Swedish series based on the original scripts of "Steptoe and son"?

Unfortunately it was never showed here.

Yes, it is! But I think they have ad-libbed the script a bit to make it suite the Swedish viewers (oh no, no Swedish erotica there)

The actors in the Swedish version are really good. The father is called Sten-Åke Cederhök, sadly he's not with us anymore. Very versatile and talented actor.
The son is called Thomas von Brömssen and he's one of Sweden's most respected actors, often playing more "serious" plays at the big theatres. The chemistry between them in "Albert & Herbert" is fantastic! Sometimes they can't keep from laughing at themselves whilsts acting!
