I have it on a compilation and it appears they take the "band" out of their name at this point.
However, I have I CD compilation who billed the Isley brothers as the Isleys and they never to my knowledge went by that.
Sorry for confusion. But I strongly think this is the song you are looking for.

The song is "Dreamer" - 12" released in 1985 on "In Your Face Records" (IYF-1775) by BB&Q(Brooklyn,Bronx&Queens) Band it's the B-side to "On The Shelf" another great song, both got decent airplay in the NY/NJ area in '85 and I think it was the last release by BB&Q Band. Both were written and produced by Kae Williams jr.

And to add further. Curtis Hairston did the lead vocals but he wasn't credited. Kae Williams went on to produce Curtis selftitled 1986 set for Atlantic.

Are you sure you don't mean "Dreamer" by Livin Joy from around 1994? It says "I'm a Dreamer" a lot.
