What's the deal with Moskow Diskow (moscow disco)?

I will explain.

I have several version on MP3 but the weird thing is that I seem to have an old 70's version that sounds kind of different from the other versions.

Did Telex record it in the 70's and then issue a remake in the 80's? The newer version sounds much cleaner and better produced. The 70's version sounds like you might expect it to sound...kind of gritty and that has nothing to do with audio quality, you can just tell they are two different songs made in different eras.

Am I crazy?

Yes. Moskow Diskow was recorded and released in 1979.
