I have a couple of 12" singles by the FLIRTATIONS (Earthquake & Back on my feet again)... Both were UK HINRG tracks in the 1980`s...
On the reverse of the BACK ON MY FEET again cover, the three vocalists pictured/credited are.. PEARLY GATES, SHIRLY PEARCE & ERNSTENE PEARCE. I know that PEARLY GATES was also a solo recording artist. According to the sleeve notes this is the "original" line up of the group.
Is this the same FLIRTATIONS group who recorded northern soul tracks ??

This is the group who were originally known as The Gypsies..
Pearly Gates was NOT in the original lineup..the line up were the Pearce Sisters and Viola Billups, if I remember correctly..They recorded a great tune called "Nothin' But A Heartache"..

Pearly Gates also issued a 12" track called "Action" if I am not mistaken.

The "Earthquake" track has recently been restructured in the US. The song line "This feeling inside" loops about twenty times before the chorus begins - delicious.
