DVD, thx for the link man, great stuff![]()

I was only able to check out the Trammps one. So cool!!! I've got so many philly records, but I've never seen these guys in action. I thought the guy on the left was Norman Harris (he looked like him), so its interesting to find out that it was Dennis Harris. I guess they're brothers. Ron 'Have Mercy' Kersey is another guy who played all over the Philly stuff. His trademark sound was the fender rhodes electric piano. I believe that was him on 'I Was Born This Way', for example. And Earl Young, the drumming phenomenon - too bad he was behind the kit. I hope some of the other philly-related soul train clips will show him on drums.
Thanks for those. Now if someone could get those bleedin clips onto a nice DVD package!!!!
Here's a link to another Philly cut, one of my faves from the Jacksons' first Epic LP, a track called 'Show You the Way To Go':

And check out the Dynamic Superiors, who had some big albums on Motown in the mid 70's. This is a track from '74 called Shoe Shoe Shine. I didn't realize the lead singer was so effeminate!

Just watched The Richie Family (love 'em). I ain't seen this in 30 years!!!!
Is Earl Young, young in that Trammps clip...
Makes my heart soar. :D
Yup! Lol! They were playing live too. It would have been nice to hear the original audio. It would have been a totally raw sounding version.Originally Written by remicks

OMG... so much great stuff to be found! Spent all morning going thru these. Here is Blue Magic doing 'Look Me Up'. Love this song, and what a treat to see them perform it, even thought he lead singer's lip synching looks a bit forced.

Also found THIS one which is a HOOT! Donna Summers doing Love to Love You Baby on a Dutch TV show.
http://www.youtube.com/w/DONNA-SUMME...donna%20summer
Donna looks great, but check out Dieter, the spandex dance-boy... :o He desperately wants to have his minkey spanked! And check out that move that looks like the salute from 'Plan 9 From Outer Space'
the more i look in it,the more surprised i get from finding things that i've never seen before......just amazing.....

wow guys , this is great stuff, yeah, someone should release all this in a nice restored DVD set.
I watched that Aretha like 10 times!!!!!How about that funky systa in the gray suit in the front by the end of the clip, that's what I call 'getting down wit your funky self" 70's style baby !!!! Take note youngsters, we were cool cats once!!!
as far as I remember never saw before Double Exposure or the Dynamic Superiors, and didn't remember this young Trammps either, I didn’t know Earl Young sang leads especially baritone. :o
How much do you think Wacko JacKo owes Jacky Wilson,?
I just saw Lou Rawls' , I remember seen this Live on TV that night, only a true Master could recover after that, I remember that even I stood up in my living room an applauded to that performance! Awesome!!! Lou!! we'll never forget you...
That Joe tex is priceless I think he really broke his hip
Steve’s “superstition” was great, I wanted to see again that synch instrument he played that Graham once mentioned it’s history around here, I forgot the name now :(
Blue Magic is great too, remember seeing them only doing “side show” , I think the music has been ‘dubbed’ over the performance so it looks like a very bad lipsink job.
Fisrst Choice was nice, but those stiff Brits announcers are so un-cool and so “top 40”, no soul what so ever hahahahaha
Got to go and watch the rest, 8)
Thanks for the link. I didn't think about plugging them into the search engine. As for the bad synching, that was done by whoever created this video. Ted Mills would have been singing live. Some clips feature the original audio, and you can tell that they are definitely singing. I think the Dynamic Superiors performance is an example.Originally Written by in-the-groove
