Need advice planning ' Super Disco Superbowl Party'!

calling all disco lovers from the 70's__ I need creative ideas for planning a Super Disco Super Bowl Party__ I want the theme to be from the disco era of the 70's. Any advice on the following subjects that will help me plan for this party.

    What was the popular....
    food
    pop/soda
    board games
    movie
    TV shows
    Hip talk/cool words
    cologue/oils
    clothing items
etc..... or any other suggestions that you can think of. (currently, the only Disco era items I have is the music, and a pair of bell bottom jeans...ohh and I still have enough hair for a small fro'

    any help will be appreciated!

Have the girls wear Tabu, it's pheromones in a bottle.

The guys can wear Aramis (a little goes a long way) or British Sterling (more subtle than A).

Double breasted velour jackets were cool with the rest of the outfit to go with the jacket. Food was pretty much as it is today.

Seven and Seven was a popular guy drink while Tequila Sunrises and Slo Gin Fizzes were enjoyed by the girls.

    Anyone else?

About the best that can be said about where I grew up (Worcester, Massachusetts) BJ's Disco was the ONLY classy club in town. I'll never forget my first night in BJ's (summer '75) I never ever saw women DRESSED LIKE THAT in my life! I was stunned! :o

The Red Barn (show bands never Disco) and The Last Chance Saloon were slighly nicer versions of Bayridge's 2001 Odyssey.

I don't think Worcester EVER had a happenin' spot... :-?

And those long sleeve shirts with the gold thread going through it.
I must have had a couple dozen of them.

You can buy them cheap in thrift shops.

Well there goes my input

Ohhkay. As for that scent, perhaps your thinking of musk colognes. Very popular and I wore 'em. Jovan and I think Yardley was another popular musk.

Hip talk. Stay away from jive. We rarely used that word.
Solid, right on! - means I'm with ya or I agree
    corny - weak
    far out - deep, wild
    freak - a hot female
    crib - su casa
dap, pound - blackman high five, handshake
OJ - rental car (made famous by OJ Simpson doing Hertz commercials)
    deuce & a cawta - Buick Electra 225
    knocking boots - sex
    GQ'd down - well dressed
    cuz, bro - self explanitory
    pigs, fuzz - cops

TV shows, more than I wish to mention. Good Times, Soap, Sanford & Son, Charlie's Angel....

Movies: Jaws, Star Wars, Enter The Dragon, The Deer Hunter, Mandingo

    Board games: Backgammon, Chess, Uno

Make sure you include those black light zodiac sign pictures. They usually featured a sexy woman drawn to represent each zodiac sign. Ya need some beads between rooms. Everybody dresses nicely..no hip hop!
Men greet by each other using words like cuz, bro or botha. Women greet with sista.

    How's that?

Paul sorry bout' the no alcohol/drugs __but I'm sure somehow, somewhere, it will be around  knowing my friends and their friends.

oooh yeah, the beads and the velvet pictures are already a set fixture in my loft__ along with the purple lights and candles. :)

Good call on the cologue__ I'll go to Target and pick some up, for special give-a-ways. (still not the oil scent I was thinking of ).

    good ideas 'paul'

    What would impress the ladies?

Hey Super D. The oil scent you are looking for is probably sold by the brothers in The Nation of Islam. I bought some from them and I still have a small bottle that's 20 years old. It is strong and a little goes a long way.
As for impressing the ladies. What's worked for me is a man whose comfortable being who he is. Being in good physical shape. Confident, some might say boderline arrogant. That's not true though, I'm really a nice man. Also someone worldly. You can discuss how to seduce a woman and at the next moment engage in cosmology and religious philosophy.
Just don't make it look like your trying to impress 'em

To add to your playlist, the group Tuxedo Junction did a disco cover of the song "You Gotta Be A Football Hero". It is on the Take The A Train Album and their greatest hits CD. It comes complete with crowd cheering.

Not from the era, but I hope you'll play
Superbowl Shuffle by the Chicago Bears for the bro's.

Hell, just get a mirror ball, put on some authentic looking garb, play the Disco sounds and everyone will be happy.
