    RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS go DISCO???

This week (May 8, 1976) the Righteous Brothers debut on the Disco chart with what I thought was a cover of the Joe Tex classic Hold On To What You Got on Haven Records. However, I checked Gemm and they only show Hold On, I'm Coming--the Sam & Dave song as a Haven 7" with He Will Break Your Heart on the b-side. Anyone know which it is?

Is this another Billboard song mixup????? :-? :o

I listened to a sample of their Hold On! I'm Comin' and it sounds very Sixties Stax-like, like the original--not updated to a Seventies "disco" sound...so I'm perplexed.

One of the Billboard retailers lists Hold On To What You Got for several weeks.....the Joe Tex original was more of a ballad...so it doesn't seem a natural for the dancefloor..........

    Anyone recall this???? :D

Double CD set that includes 3 previously unreleased Righteous Brothers tracks "If That's The Way You Want It" (Lambert/Potter), "Happy Song" (Medley) and "Father Of The Rock & Roll" (Medley). The latter two tracks were produced by Bill Medley and Art Munson.

they coulda/woulda/shoulda re-mixed (in disco fashion, of course) their overlooked gem "Dream On", their fairly up-tempo minor hit follow-up to their huge 1974 comeback hit "Rock & Roll Heaven".
