1-AMII STEWART'S ''KNOCK ON WOOD'' (1978) - “Knock On Wood” just sounded incredibly huge in a dance club, with its thundering beat, oddly-creaking synthesizer lines, laser-bright horn sections, insistent percussion effects, and ominous underlying bass hum. ( from www-seibuone-com) :)
2-TANTRA'S ''HILLS OF KATMANDU'' (1979) - '''Hills Of Katmandu'' is a brilliantly camp, Italian disco wig-out from 1979 that mashes jiggling guitars with heavily percussive breaks and robotic basslines. ( from www-thefactory-it ) :)

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion

That thundering beat on Amii's 'Knock On Wood' could be attributed to Phil Harding who mixed & engineered the track - a few years later he was responsible for mixing (& sometimes producing & writing) many of StockAitkenWaterman's 80s dance tracks which also tended to have a 'thundering' bass/beat sound.
...ya gotta beat the street......
Hills of Katamandu was a huge record BITD at The Embassy Club & Legends in London'd West End. Great track but not one I'd necessarily play out as it is such a 'hard core' disco track! Today's equivalent would be deep or minimal house. Not everyone's cup of tea!
