One of the CD's I bought, which I referenced in my earlier post ('something for everyone) included a reference to a double CD called "Heavy Vibes" by Montana.

Because of the weird packaging and the small print I was under the impression this was a remix project based on the original. But... the small print said "Joey Negro, David Morales, Spiller, Masters At Work (...) have all been 'inspired' by his grooves!

So... this is actually better than a remix project as this is a double CD jam packed with many different 'post Salsoul' releases by Montana. There are originals, club mixes, Spanish mixes, and many other gems. And they are across releases under the name of Montana, Philly Soul Orchestra, Philly Ear Kandy,Earl Young's Trammps, South Soul party, etc. etc.

And what makes it even better is the fact that the booklet is incredibly informative and... contains (amongst others) Bernie's interview with Monatana himself. There is a credit there, so I assume that our master of our universe knows about this?

    Maarten,

I am glad you cleared this one up cause I was on the phone with Vince the other day and we couldn't figure out the release you first spoke of. He swore up and down that he didn't recall a remix comp of his material.

Yes, the liner notes include my interview with him, but did you notice the major typo in the credits? It says "Bernard F. Lopez of dancemusic.com"!!! How did they get dancemusic from DiscoMusic.com? They got my web site name wrong!!! I was so upset about that, but they promised to change all future editions.

Sorry again for the confusion. You better claim that other web address and link it!
