The move to the new server is not complete so expect some more down-time for the next few days.
With the continued growth of the site we must move to a larger and faster server. In order to do this the data from the old server must be synched over to the new one. As such, the site and forum will be down from anywhere from an hour to as long as 72 hours beginning later tonight (Dec 27, 2005).
Before the actual move the site and forum will be "read only" which means you won't be able to post messages or comments. This will only be temporary until the site is fully moved over to the new server.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.

It's going really fast BTW! So fast I almost can't catch up, I'm 42 you know :o
Bernie, maybe a little tip: post a little message on the homepage when you are working on the technical aspect of the site![]()
Moving the site over to the new server has not been easy and still has NOT been done. To complicate matters even more, on New Year's Eve the current server's hard drive went south taking this site and several others down for hours.
Fortunately, the host backed up from the previous nights backups, but this also meant that any posts from visitors during the afternoon of Dec. 31, 2005 were lost. Apologies to anyone who may have lost their posts.
Will try again sometime this week to move the site over to the new server.
I was wondering why the site suddenly went kaput when I tried to post. I think it was just before 7pm EST. Thanks for the heads-up.

a ha! No wonder the site has been a little erratic lately.. In any case, glad to know it's nothing bad and that there'll be more room to grow on the new servers..
After many sleepless nights the move to the new server is complete!!! Thanks to all for putting up with the forum being down for extended periods. If you encounter any problems please post it here being as specific as possible. Thanks again.
I'm not able to "submit" new vault entries , error comes back as " this weblog does not accept public submissions" I tried to Login again and also get error.
Sorry about that Mix. Try it now. If it still doesn't work let me know and I'll work on it tonight.
It went thru but did not prompt for 'images' upload. Tried to re-submit using url and it wont accept this second try.
While I get it fixed later tonight, you can always go directly to the upload photos page at any time by using this permanent URL:Originally Written by Mixmachine

Everyone,
Just noticed that clicking on an internal search link like those of producer's or artist's names in the Vault calls up a "Restricted" error. Will work on that as well later tonight. If anyone finds other problems please post it here.
Hey there..
I got some thread reply emails just recently but I haven't able to visit the site or forum through my regular connection.. Whenever I try to, I get a 403 Forbidden notice. I managed to get around that and log on here through a proxy server.. Not sure how or why my IP is restricted, but maybe the problem might be related to the new server and that "restricted" error in the vault entries, since I was able to visit earlier today. (note: my regular IP is: 137.186.230.235)
Thanks..
Can't log on through Mozilla or Opera only IE
It's all good now, at least for me.. No more problems accessing the site and forum. Thanks Bernie! :)
This is now fixed.Originally Written by Bernie
Bernie, I don't know if this is worth fixing unless is very easy, but a few vault entries I checked the (") and (') in the text area have been changed to other symbols....
Please give me an actual example/URL so I can check. Thanks.Originally Written by Mixmachine
Mix,
Just found one at http://www.discomusic.com/records-more/6277_0_2_0_C/
This may have something to do with the way you type it. Are you first typing this into MS Word... and then pasting into the entry form? Many word processors use a special symbol for certain characters that look normal to you or I, but show up otherwise when pasted into a plain text doc. You may want to try using the plain text option like NotePad...
I always use Firefox 1.5 or the up-to-date version of Opera and there's absolutely no problem so far. Are u referring to the board or the main site (vault)?Originally Written by originalbigm
well, I'm guilty of using Word, I had no idea about problem, I thought your software made the necessary changes after uploading, but keep in mind this happened after your recent conversion, I'll use Notepad from now on, but I see it doesn't have spell check, I guess I could use word and save as text...Originally Written by Bernie
