    Cerrone "Je Suis Music"

Originally (shame, shame) came upon this cut AFTER hearing the 2005 Armand Van Helden remix. I had the original in my files BUT had skipped over it, having always said Cerrone "wasn't my thing"...really loving this song. Reminds me of the atmospherics of Don Ray's "Got To Have Loving"/"Standing In The Rain" (yes yes...I know the connection). Anyway, what a great song. Cerrone! Oh Cerrone!

It's one of Jean-Marc's great tracks. In fact the whole "The Golden Touch" album is great. Never get tired of those 4 tracks, never

    He's changed, that's for sure:

So now he's a white-haired pint-sized sticks man (not a good combination, betcha he has lotsa attitude)!!! Wonder if he still has outrageous fantasies that he's God's gift to women?

VS: Aah, but at least Roland knew he was a rat! Are there NO records that you played on radio or on your dodgems that were, let's say, less than the full 12" pizza? At least I HAVE THE BALLS to admit to the odd faux pas, 'cos I realise that honesty is the basis of any worthwile relationship, cyber or real, that I'm not perfect AND 'cos I've never been a poseur or into being ultra hip (unlike many around here). So I played a crap record, so what? No need to harp on about it and bring it into a conversation where it has no relevance. That's just bitchiness and doesn't become you.

BTW: I don't think I ever said that I particularly liked the Roland Rat record. All I ever said was that it was very convincing and well made (which it was). Remember, Electro beats and hip hop were in their relative infancy at the time. The 'list' that DiscoDisk referrred to was from a live tape that I had listened to and submitted as one of my very first posts. For all I know, that may have been the very first time I'd played Roland Rat, just to see what the record was like and the 'list' was a snapshot of what I played on that night, at THAT time. It wasn't a list of records that I was listening to now after 20 odd years, or had ressurected specifically 'cos I like 'em. See the difference?

I want the whole world to know it!!!! And....."Rasputin", oooooh, yes! Still play it actually  I'm a bad boy, ya know :o

Great synth on Cerrone's "Je Suis Music", but my favorite is the intro of Metropolis' "New York Is My Kind of Town" produced by Thor B. :)
