So sad... I was always a Lou Rawls fan. When one of his songs is played on the radio I still listen to it.
Time marches on. Another 10 years and we'll all be in our 60s and early 70s:o
:( Sadly I read on MSN this morning that Lou Rawls is in grave condition due to lung and brain cancer. Say a prayer for this legendary artist who gave us such Disco Classics as 'Groovy People' and 'You'll never find another love like mine'. I think it's safe to say we'll never find another voice like yours; Stay strong Lou! Any fond memories?

Very sad news. Not only was he a great singer, I remember him doing various telethons to help others in need. I know it may be faint hope, but I hope he pulls through.
I recently bought a DVD where he sings his hits c.1979 or 1980 in Edmonton, Alberta. It's not MFSB playing behind him, but its still great sounding music.

"You'll never find" will always remind me of the first time I heard any one doubling up on this song, it was at a hot club in Ft Lauderdale called "MR PIPS" around '76 and the DJ was using a second copy and overlapping 4 beats behind, man, I couldn't wait for the next morning to buy a second copy and do this in my home rig, after a while I remember just about every DJ in town was doing it... ....AHhhh thanks for the memories Lou, and hang in there...
Don't forget his excellent follow up "I see you when I get there".....
