It's by a prog-rock band called Titanic. I think it was a single-only release, but you can find it on the 'Eagle Rock' CD reissue.

Which band did the original early 70's (?) version of "Macumba", the bongo-driven, heya-heya-heya chanting afro rock track covered eurodisco-style by Marboo in 1977? There was a "Macumba" by Tantra of course but that's a different tune.

Thanks! So it's Titanic after all. I've been going thru the lps just in case the track would be theirs, and in case there'd be another undiscovered Sultana, Rain 2000 or Santa Fe somewhere. Must seek out the cd.
No problem. I think allmusic.com has audio samples for all their records. The Repertoire label has been reissuing their albums with the non-LP singles as bonus tracks. If you haven't already got it, Santa Fe is on the self-titled album CD reissue.Originally Written by JussiK
