Gwen McCrae also did that funky 1982 stomper Keep The Fire Burning, one of my personal faves...a nice uptempo groover with a Dance With You rhythm.
I noticed some people confusing the Gwens: Gwen Guthrie and Gwen McCrae
Gwen Guthrie (my personal all time favorite):Hopscotch, Getting Hot, Padlock, Should've Been You, Ain't Nuthin Going on but the Rent.
Gwen McCrae: Rocking Chair, Funky Sensation

Both Gwens are great.. I've come across some Gwen McCrae mp3s mislabeled as Gwen Guthrie..
That said, I have a slight preference for Gwen McCrae.. I think much of Gwen's '70s recordings are some seriously excellent southern soul! I love her "Let's Straighten it Out" album from '78. One of her recent ones "Psychic Hot Line" is really good too.. IMO, she's got one of the ideal soul voices; raw, unpretentious and passionate..
Her Atlantic albums were good too, I especially loved "On My Way".. They were supposed to be reissued on CD in August, but they've been pushed back and I have no idea when they'll be out.. Hopefully they're still on the table :(

does Dionne Warwick do backing vocals
lol.. I know it sounds funny, but it actually is an enjoyable song haha. Though I was actually referring to the album of the same name, which is a real return to her roots. Very soulful and even bluesy in places.
Funny that you should mention Dionne haha.. She's not on the track, but she does get mentioned a couple of times

OMG ---- You mean an entire album project used this as its name??? .... It's even worse than I thought!!
