The reason why I ask is in the past our local radio stations used to play her songs constantly, but I have not heard any cuts off her latest album played on the radio.

I'm so out of touch with today's music that I cannot tell the difference between Celine Dion and Mariah Carey    .

I've never been a fan of Celine Dion, and I don't listen to radio stations that would play her music, so I wouldn't know.

Well her last LP sold millions--BUT Celine seems to have peaked. The Adult Contemporary stations played her singles, but Pop stations sorta igged her.

She's planning a Vegas career--has a permanent gig at some major place there and will perform there nightly.

So, in other words, she's gone Wayne Newton. Probably wise.

That 1990's crop of female superstars: Whitney, Mariah, and Celine ALL seem to have dropped a few positions in Superstar Status in the last year or so. The public seemed to tire of them all at the same time.

Well, it's the only place tacky enough for her!

To answer the original question: "Are people tired of Céline Dion?" God, I hope so. I sure am!

    Well,
I just wanted to say, I absolutly HATE with a capitol H, most music that has come out since 1990 up through the present day (except some of the club tracks that actualy had the good feel and structure the best they could to the original club tracks of the late 1970's). Miss Dion really annoyed the hell out of me the second she came on the scene (along with alot of others). Actually, if it wasnt for the shitty ass music from the 90's to present day with a little help from a break up with a girlfriend back in the time, I would have never discovered the great world of true disco music and DJ mixing as well. So, the crap was good for something, huh? When all else fails, the music is dead, find new old music to discover by going to a club that plays it..lol

I always thought Celine Dion was a marketing product. She seems so unreal, so made out of a dream, so out of reach, unhuman, it's got to be a virtual character created to sell records and then evaporate.

Fortunately I didn't hear or listen to her long enough to get tired. Is she still doing movie themes? It seems I keep hearing her voice on TV commercials and THAT gets tiring.

Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey what's the difference, they're all the same, they are lollywater pop stars singing lollypop music           .

I'm so far away from the modern stuff because I find a lot of it as crap or just plain boring but there are a few exceptions.

God help us all....Im a French Canadian as is Celine and I have no regrets to tell you that her pop by numbers run of the mill watered down middle of the road "radio friendly" music is giving me tennis elbow as I reach out to change stations every time I hear her on the car radio.
Celine and Mariah seem to be constantly wanting to show off their vocal skills so that every song released is a ear splitting/glass shattering get on your nerves type of forgettable corporate pop.

I've only just noticed this thread & I agree with you all about Celine D.being naff but I actually prefer some of her tracks to alot of the post-1990 stuff that passes for 'pop music' such as Macy Gray & the Backstreet Boys. I'm so worried about my standards of taste that I'm now going to lie down in a darkened room with the Saturday Night Band & Debbie Jacobs played at full volume until I come to my senses!

    I hate her.

So she can sing. So what. She's as bland as a newly painted beige toilet wall.

Are People Tired of Celine Dion?

    Hi All :D
I must say that i hate Celine Dion and that screamish voice of hers (i´ve heard heavy metal singers singing lower than her...).And when i heard one of her last tunes sampling Blondie´s Heart Of Glass...i was on a verge of a blind fury attack  ...i love Heart of Glass, and hearing that awfull woman using it in one of her lousy songs...bleurgh :x

    Tired of Celine dion??

    Depends what you mean,
The last time i heard her `singing` was a year
ago or longer and for me thats enough to
wake me up in the middle of the night, every night,
havely sweating and when i am lucky i find the
toilet on time to have a massive puke,
so i`m a bit tired yes....
