Who knows any other releases dedicated to famous clubs of the Seventies??
it's a well known fact that 'le freak' by Chic was composed by
Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards when they were 'not on the guest list ' of Manhattan's most famous club Studio 54. Furiously the duo returned to their studio that night and started jamming on the words 'F**ck Off' and presto! 'Le Freak' became one of their greatest hits.
The door policy at Studio 54 and the club itself inspired people to start making records about it; either as a dedication or a damnation of this glitzy disco palace.
-Amanda Lear -'Fashion pack (studio 54)' on Ariola
-Dana & Gene -'Dario, can you get me into Studio 54' on Midsong produced by August Darnel of Kid Creole fame.
-Ashla Putli -'dancing machine (dedication to Studio 54)'
are some of these disco tunes dedicated to the Studio but I am sure there's more songs about famous clubs.
-'Paradise Xpress' by Tanaa Gardner is another one, although this tune describes the scene at the Paradise Garage.
And of course The Village People namechecked a few clubs of the West Coast in 'Hollywood'.
keep on diggin!

Andrea True's "NY, You Got Me Dancing":
"At 12 West, the sounds the best, I guess you can come in your jeans" (love that line  )
"but I still prefer getting dressed up for Regines".
Bob McGilpin - 54
Lisa's "Jump Shout" name checks a bunch of clubs.
Barry Manilow -at the Copacabana

Did somewhere in the song (Best Disco In Town by The Richie Family) they sing " Studio 54 is the only place to dance"
Nina Hagin's 'New York, New york' name checks Danceteria, Roxy and Madcap.
that story about Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards being denied entry to Studio 54 is one of my favorites (they did eventually get it). But you know what? When you look at what eventually happened to so many of Studio 54's regulars, in retrospect, they're probably lucky they were kept out.
One of my all time favorites is Tim Curry's "Paradise Garage". Of course Larry played it frequently. I have it on vinyl but it does not appear to be available on CD.
Joe Thomas - Plato's Retreat
Didn't Village People mention a few in Fire Island? Sandpiper, etc.
Dexter Wansel's "I'll Never Forget My Favourite Disco" namechecks loads of US discos. Here it in this mix - Philly Mix 2 | Six Million Steps
Dexter does mention London in the tune, but none of the discos of the time. Shame!
One that does mention a UK club..... "The Goldmine" by David Bendeth
