Jeez'm...look what I done started
Ok, if I'm on an island workin' Salma I'd prefer Salsoul keeping us company. I can hear Salma whimpering, you're just the right size

You're too funny Paul :D , but what are you going to do when she says, "Don't mess around, don't mess around my bush...???"

I'd probably have to say Salsoul for now just for their sheer diversity of music. This is tough as tomorrow I may say Philly.

I'd really really like to say Salsoul because they got into more gritty sounding grooves, which is why most of the Philly International regulars like Vince Montana left Gamble & Huff. But Philadelphia International wins hands down. Their artists were able to cross over and have number 1 hits on the pop charts, unlike Salsoul. They had people like the O'Jays, Teddy P, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes. Salsoul had some great artists like Double Exposure, First Choice, Loleatta Holloway and eventually Instant Funk and Bunny Sigler, but their output while great, didn't have the significance of tracks like Wake Up Everybody, Got To Give The People What They Want, For The Love Of Money, etc...

Philadelphia International was also able to keep pace with Salsoul in the late 70's, early 80's by switching to a different sound with more synthesizers and a harder bass groove on LPs by Archie Bell, Dexter Wansel, and the MFSB stuff like Mysteries of The World.

I should also add that Philly International also got into the rap game early on when they had Jocko redo Ain't No Stoppin Us Now as Rhythm Talk.

    Philadelphia Int...all the way

even if Salsoul were funkier, mcfadden&whitehead, gamble&huff & thom bell etc, produced such beautiful and timeless songs, that they win the case.

OMG      Paul, my dear, "Where Will It End" (Love Committee), you are just so "Nice 'n Naasty"!?

For me it's Salsoul! Why? They have the most of my favourite outputs. But Philly is supercool too.

One has to make choices in life, unfortunately!
