Love Is The Message (pt. 2)....Blueprint for Heavy Vibes?

Anyone else noticed the similarities between these two tracks?
I've got to admit to part 1 of LITM going totally over my head. Did you guys really play this BITD, as part of any sets? Can't imagine who would have danced to it, but the second half is solid enough and cool.

I noticed it immediately. "Heavy vibes" seems like a later take of "Love is the message".
Many R&B songs of the second and third tiers are like this. Melodies, hooks, and production techniques are often copied to the point where it ruins the song. It actually bothers me to listen to "Heavy Vibes" and was a major letdown when a purchased an entire StarFunk CD (remember them) for that Vince Montana track.

Heavy Vibes definitely is based around the bass riff in the second half of Love Is The Message. I don't know if that track was recorded in response to Salsoul Orchestra's Love Break, or the other way around. I personally believe Love Break was created by looping a section of that Love Is The Message outro and then dubbing Chicago Bus Stop overtop. By 'dubbing', I think it was more of a rerecording of the Chicago Bus Stop orchestral instrumentation, as it probably would have been difficult synching up two recordings back in them days.

Heavy Vibes has really grown on me over the years, to the point where I would now call it one of the best disco/dance records ever made. It has everything in it to satisfy my musical leanings, especially the understated pure jazziness of it. It was cool BITD, now it's approaching absolute zero.

It ceratinly makes a pleasant change from all the ones that have gone South. Too many have gone South.
