Been wanting to discuss this album while it's still hot on Marky's compliation chart.
Bob Crewe's "STREET TALK "
...the album is worthy of any serious disco music collector for the one masterpiece song "STREET TALK " alone . ( Peak position #2) ..... At 8:44 this 110 BPM song is a sexy sultry jazzy stroll thru disco sensuality. Pretty and plentifully orchestrated disco with just a touch of subdued funk . LA cool .
( Much of the album is mixed by Tom Moulton ...vocals by many .... include Barbara Ingram, Carla Benson, Julia Tilman , Patti Austin ... Musicians abound ( nine on violins alone ) & french horns, trumpets, and trombones each get turns at being up front ...
Early disco classic ......
The underlying theme throughout "STREET TALK " makes it a stand out album in another significant way . When it comes to music referencing gay sexuality .... STREET TALK is quite bold . The discussion is amply rich ... a celebratory ... life is nasty / life is great ... coming-out extravaganza ..... .... A MUST HAVE ......
to be continued ....

It's definitely a great records. I personally prefer the 12" remix of 'Street Talk', as the percussion is much louder and crisper sounding than on the LP.
Has this track ever made it onto a CD compilation? I didn't think it was 'obscure'.

I've been playing this track for about 1 1/2 years on a regular basis.... I can't seem to get enough of it. It makes my day.
Check out the long 12" of "Menage a Trois", too, better built than the album version.
Yes, as they tagged on a drum/percussion break onto the intro.Originally Written by JussiK
