    Village People

What is your favourite Village People track? Please don't say they were all crap........Mine is Sodom and Gomorrah, a real gem.

    Hi Charlie,

Mine is "village people" from their first lp.I like this "deep dark groove".Also great is "Hot cop" and I think that is an underrated song.

Yay! I just love the Village People :P Even flew to Lisbon last week just to see them :P And in honesty I don't know every song they've done, so I'm going with the very well known Macho Man, mainly because it reminds me of the summer just gone with friends in South of France. :P

Can someone advise on where would be a good place to find their actual albums, have looked on ebay but everything is on record and I don't have a record player, only a CD and all I can find so far is greatest hits on CD..... :(

The 12 inch version of "Go West". This version and the remake the Pet Shop Boys did with them.

"My Roommate" and "Ups And Downs".

BTW I ran the New York City Marathon back in 1992, I trained for one year on the music from the Village People!

Joining Graham here, the duo Hollywood/San Francisco is my favourite and...."Village People", a track that I only recently discovered but that is one of their best stuff. They may be camp but I always liked those guys!

I like 'em all! I agree that the first LP was much more underground sounding, not commercial sounding like the later records. I also like Macho Man. That song has a great groove, and I love the bass playing during the bridge section.

Victor Willis .....one of the best voices in the land of disco .....

"San Francisco/Hollywood" ...was being played before anyone had any mental images of these guys as cops and Indians and urban sprawl builders ..... I was going to the massive Studio One in LA at the time of this song's height and that floor was in wait to join Victor in hollering "STUDIO ONE !! " .. lights went off .... DJ intentionally holds the record a few moments ....then ....."LIGHTS" .... lights came back on to the max ..."CAMERA ".... "ACTION" .... the happy floor was jamming .... quite a disco moment ....

    :D

I also have memories of their final crowd attention grabber ... "I'M SLEAZY "

Hollywood/San Fransisco are the only tracks I ever truly liked, and “Hollywood” inspired what is considered to be one of the first Boot Mixes ever made and the one that started all the madness. As far as the rest of the Village People’s catalog goes,   in keeping with the original posters wishes I’ll keep my opinions of this Disco clowns to myself…
