Well, this is already one case Miss Marketing loses.
But is Madonna convicted? Was she another person when she recorded that song?
Madonna: "Your honour, I don't know who that person is, I'm Esther, I am a Disco diva! That new age song was done by another me so I can not be convicted!"
Belgian judge:"Shut up Madonna!"
Salvatore Acquaviva is the leader of the Disco band The Chocolat's who still exist. When Belgian evening news was interviewing him, they did it in his recordshop where to my surprise was still a lot of vinyl. Maybe originals, maybe re-issues, I don't know.
The Belgian songwriter comes from the same town (Mouscron) as producer Jean Vanloo (Chocolat's, Patrick Hernandez, Birdie song) who was the one who discovered Madonna (she was a dancer for Hernandez) initially. She turned him down as she preferred to do Rock instead of Disco. There, in 1979, she heard the song "Ma vie fou le camp" by Acquaviva and that song was officially released a long time before La Ciccone put out "Frozen". When you play the original at a lower speed you can clearly hear a big part of "Frozen" in it.
Can u imagine folks! And the stupid woman is pretending that she's bewitched by Disco when she actually wouldn't have anything to do with it BITD!
BTW: Belgian television did the test and da judge is right: both songs are the same for a big part. This is no coïncidence. "Frozen" must be taken out of the Belgian shops(CD and DVD) and the song can't be played on Belgian radio or television anymore. If this is negelected, there's a fine of 125.000 Euros.
BELGIUM-MADONNA: 1-0 STRIKE!
This is the man who has beaten Madonna:
