Find them and destroy them!
Got a few really great records from the Dapto markets and have listened to some of them. So far I've listened to:
Village People - Village People LP 1977
Good to hear the full length versions of their two hit songs "San Francisco" and "In Hollywood" although I downloaded them from AG.
Best Of Isaac Hayes, this features his really cool funky cuts like:
Chocolate Chip + instrumental version
Groove-a-thon parts 1 & 2
Disco Connection (full length)
Disco Shuffle
and some of his soulful music as well
Hush - C'mon We're Taking Over LP 1974 (Australian glam rock group who done some really cool 70's Aussie rock songs)
And I've been listening to some other songs like:
Boney M - Love For Sale 1977 (Best song off that album)
Stevie Wonder - Keep On Runnin' 1972
Four Tops - Standing In The Shadows Of Love 1967
Earth Wind & Fire - Departure/Biyo 1976 (I LOVE this song)
Muscle Shoals Horns - I Just Wanna Turn You On 1977 (12" version, I love it)
Isley Brothers - Fight The Power 1975
Sylvers - Mista Guitar Man 1976
Jimmy Castor Bunch - E-Man Partay/Maximum Stimulation 1977 (Now that's what I call funky guitar work)
Van McCoy - Change With The Times 1975
and some others
Australia mate! The land of many great funkateers!

I WISHED that these songs were playing in my cd!!! The only one that I have is "Romeo & Juliet" but its an edited version. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna play R & J right now. Do you have "You, Me & He" by Mtume and can you tell me where I can find
"Peanut Vendor"?

Believe it or not, I was able to burn those songs on a CD. I downloaded R&J from Audio Galaxy, where it came in two parts (Acts I and II was "Part 1", Acts III, IV, and V was "Part 2"). I also was able to download "Peanut Vendor" with "Frenesi" but "Brazil" wasn't included on the mp3. R&J was a problem because due to the probability that so many were downloading it, I had to wait a while before it finally made my database. "Love's Coming/Baby Love" is available on Boris Midney's Anthology CD. I saw it at Record Explosion last week. The full, 12:52 version was on there. I think "Peanut Vendor" is readily available on any Ritchie Family compilation CD. I know I saw it on the few RF hits CD's I've seen. I also got Amant's "If There's Love", but I got the 11-minute version that's from the 12". I remember hearing that on the actual Amant album, it goes to about 14 minutes. I saw Mtume's "You Me and He" on a Billboard Top R&B Hits CD. It's from 1984, I think (the year the song came out).

To the best of my knowledge, "Peanut Vendor" is not on any RF CD compilation (I have three different ones). But send me an e-mail...
HustleBaby--
I just read Graham's post and did a search on Amazon.com for Ritchie Family CD's. Graham is right; "Peanut Vendor" isn't included on any of them. I apologize for that, only because I thought I had seen it listed on a CD I saw. Then when I saw the Arabian Nights medley, that's where I made the mistake. That medley is available on CD (not sure of the time length). All I know is that I got "Peanut Vendor/Frenesi" off of Audio Galaxy. I'm surprised it hasn't been put out on CD yet; the earliest RF compilation I've seen goes back to 1991.

Hi there Robbie,
If I was not already feeling guilty this week for being such a stupid guy, this message makes it even worse.
I did download the Long version of Romeo & Juliet from Audiogalaxy, some months ago.
But I cannot find it any more on the stack of CD-RW's I have containing my downloads.
For the last 3 days I have been searching through all those files...without succes...
in the meantime I am forced to listen to Sharon Redd (which is not a bad thing even on the worst of days), but maybe that's just life.
Regards,
Nic.
P.S. Needless to say if there's anyone able to help this messy guy (overhere)...please do...I'll do anything for that song.
