Leo Sayer "Thunder in my heart"

I just discover this track and I really love it! What a catchy chorus! Do you know other song in the same spirit with catchy chorus?

    Thanks

I had a disscusion a few months back on this track and said that it was disco. I reached the UK chart top 30 in 1977 when disco was being outed by all artists. I like it and it needs a good 12" edit. Never saw a long version though.

Sounds like a Disco tune to me. Perhaps Disco-Pop or Disco-Rock, but definitely dancefloor/disco. What's your definition of 'Disco'?

It's a pop song that came out in the Disco era.
    My defenition of Disco?
Well, it has to have a connection to New York City someway, it has to be from the Seventies, it shouldn't be on any top 10-30-40-100 or whatever, it should be somewhat underground, rare, no synthesizers, etc, etc....( and of course you can't sit still when hearing it...!!)

    Skywalker: Man...You got problems.

Play this record with some other Disco toons to someone who doesn't know any disco whatsoever and they'd be hard pushed to put it into the non disco pile. It is far better than some of the grunge that came out of Noo Yawk Citeee in the name of Disco, especially around '76 and '77.

Well that rules out about half of the disco songs from the 70's in your books, including the AVI label music.

And don't forget The Peoples Republic of China, there is some realy good music from the seventies/eighties there!
DJ's play it, people dance to it, and it has the right BPM, so it's Disco right?
This Forum is fantastic, I learn everyday...!! :D :D :D

Have fun Skywalker....but you know full well your original post pertaining to what is and what isn't Disco, was pretty ridiculous. So, none of Solar records was Disco, none of TK records, none from Philly, or a hundred other places that weren't Noo Yawk. Not even the abominable Alec Costandinos or Cerrone or Boris Midney would be in your disco book.
Hey, wait a minute, you might have a point with those last three.

Yeah, stick around, you might broaden your horizons and change your mind.

I recently listened to the 12" mix of this tune....I only had the LP version. It went to #30 on the Disco charts in late 1977-early 1978.

I think Leo screams too much in this tune. His vocal grates on my one last nerve. :P :x

There are some photos of Leo in full clown regalia; I don't recall if this was just for a photo shoot or what...but I think he even had a painted teardrop on his face and a was wearing a clown suit.

Skywalker: The words, petulant, truculent, sarcastic and spoilt kid come to mind. Keep it up if you wanna....it might develop into something vaguely amusing.
