Did Den Harrow win a Grammy Award from Bravo Magazine?

    Hi there!

    According to:

    Euro Dance Hits
    http://www.eurodancehits.com/italoda...enharrow2.html

“Den Harrow “in 1986 was a recipient of SILVER OTTO, a prestigious grammy award from the biggest and most popular German music magazine: BRAVO.”

    An according to:

    Den Harrow’s official Website
    http://www.denharrow.it/english/discografia.html

“Catch the Fox, vince il Grammy in Germania…”
“Catch the Fox, won the Grammy in Germany…”

    Grammy? A Grammy Award?

It is my understanding that there is only ONE Grammy Awards and that one is in the USA.

    See here:
    http://www.grammy.com/awards/grammy/index.aspx

So, did he win a Grammy Award from the German magazine Bravo, or he won the SILVER OTTO *Award* (not… GRAMMY Award) from Bravo?

    Thnx.

People at the German Bravo magazine forum

    http://community.bravo.de/boards/vie...575c70f3e6ddb1

wrote that Den Harrow DID NOT win a Grammy Award in Germany simply because they don’t have such a thing in Germany.

He won the BRAVO OTTO (award) [NOT Grammy].

LOL, Oh dear you know that this Grammy story was even borrowed by an Italian magazine a couple of years ago when they did a piece on Den, one of my teenage idols. I love his music. "Don't Break My Heart" is one of the first 7" (45) I ever bought and brings tears to my eyes if I play it.
BRAVO is a German music magazine that has been around for ages, like at least since the 60s. They have their music prizes called Otto. I can imagine that with every country stating ooh they won the German Oscar, the Italian Oscar, they applied the same STUPID rule for music too. I wish he did win a Grammy but really, has any ItaloDisco song ever won such an award?

BTW Bravo nowadays is more of a teenage sex magazine really.

    I don’t think so.

    What I know is that

Fancy’s "Come Inside / Chinese Eyes" entered on the Billboard Dance Chart on January 5, 1985. Highest position was # 2, and stayed in chart for 11 weeks.

His song "Check It Out" entered on the Billboard Dance Chart on July 27, 1985. Highest position was # 13, and stayed in chart for 9 weeks.

Baltimora reached # 6 with Tarzan Boy (Nov. 1985)
    Spagna: Call Me # 13 (Feb. 1988)
Den Harrow: Future Brain # 50 (May 1986)
    etc.

Even more funny is that nearly everything I have ever read about Den Harrow is that he was just a pretty face and never even sang a song. I do have his greatest hits and I have to admit the vocals don't all sound the same....
Sometimes its just the music I love:-)
