    Our Father....

One of those entertainment programs that hit the US tv screens at 7:30 EST (Entertainment Tonight, Extra, etc.) referred to Barry Gibb as "THE FATHER OF DISCO". I actually spit out the iced tea I was drinking, I almost choked. They claimed to be celebrating Disco Week.

Perhaps just a little more research by these prodcuers would be in order... :x

I always spit out Ice Tea! Who invented that awful drink

I guess when televisionproducers do a show about Disco they only consider the mainstream hitperformers. Bee Gees, Boney M, Baccara, Patrick Hernandez.

I never saw a documentary here on tele that mentioned people like Costandinos, Gino Soccio, Gamble & Huff, Mike Theodore to name only a few.

I hope it'll change someday but I doubt it. Oh yes, in Belgium, ABBA is considered as one of the Discobands

1). The UK Disco top 10 was probably the result of a vote by members of the general public, given a limited choice from which to vote.

2). Love 'em or hate 'em, there is no denying that the real, expotential explosion in everything Disco, happened post SNF and that film was directly responsible for much of it. If the number of people into disco was measured as 100 pre SNF, post SNF it must have been 1000. Now, whether or not that explosion was on the back of the Bee Gees toons or the other gems like Walter Murphy (euch!!), David Shire (huuulllloooo), Yvonne Elliman et al.....God only knows. So, in the minds of most of the people (the extra 900) who were attracted to Disco post SNF, the Bee Gees are an integral part of it. I may not like it, you may not like it, but it's not that difficult to understand.

Hey, Bro. No, I'm not mad with you or anyone. I just found it best that I keep a low profile when it comes to this particular forum. Better for my blood pressure.

All the talk about Salma and breasts is enough to raise anyone's blood pressure.

Wow those are some butt kickin boots if I ever saw a pair! Unfortunately I'm way too tall for a pair such as those. I'd look like a long lost Amazon woman preying on men and wanted in San Diego Co. for the dissappearance of a certain hottie and also wanted in Belgium for a missing Videoskooter ;) ;)

No thanks! I'll stick to preying on you men out there in my old skewl Converse!! :P
