Yesterday, Donna Summer spoke with the Belgian press in Antwerp where she is currently doing a series of concerts.
She told that doing tours is not evident considering her age and that it is a physical challenge but that God gives her the strength to perform.
She also told that the seventies were not that glamourous for her and that, although she always wanted to be a star, she looks back with mixed feelings to the golden period of "Love To Love You Baby" which instead of glamour, brought her a very stressful life with too much performances, too much interviews, too little sleep and she felt like being a product.
"I felt like a bottle of Coca-Cola". And when success was fading away during some years she felt again like that bottle and she tought that people were saying "We had enough, put the Donna-bottle back in the fridge".
Performing in Belgium, backed by a complete Symphonic Orchestra was a revelation to her and made her go for it again at 200%.
She's also very happy with the samples used by Madonna and Beyoncé: "It keeps me in the spotlight and I earn a lot of money " "I want to have a number one hit myself but I'm not going to enforce it, I'm working hard on that!"
And yes, Marky, she wears a wig nowadays and admits she has a little overweight-problem which she's gonna control by a diet and by doing sports again.
And everybody agrees on 1 thing: her voice is still Disco-Divine!
