    STOCK,AITKEN & WATERMAN are BACK !!

Read an interesting interview with Pete Waterman in the newspaper yesterday... He has reformed with his musical colleagues (Stock & Aitken).
They are currently working on some new material with a new artist and we should hear more from them in the coming new year.. Great news for fans of their music.

Hopefully they'll just reform to play golf or cricket together. Let them stay out of the charts! There's enough crap already on the radio and in the charts. We don't need another 80's revival

Some of their early 80s material was pretty damn good - Tracks by Princess/haywoode/O Chi Brown etc.. and their very early hi-nrg tracks by hazell dean/Divine/dead or alive.

Some like Princess were, yeah, OK. I have a problem with the whole stream of Astley, Minogue, Mel & Kim, Hazel Dean and other PRODUCTS they assembled in their garage. Perhaps I'm the only one on the board here that doesn't like them but, honestly, I never ever enjoyed 95% of their music. Like most of the sterile stuff that ruled the decks in the 80's.

Hey man, yous sounding old before your time.

I stopped listening to hit records at a time when they were on the cusp of becoming mega successful, so most of their stuff passed me by. However, it has to said that they were obviously very good at what they did and they should be congratulated on their successes. Mel & Kim were just about the only artists they produced that I ever really got into, but even they didn't manage 3 in a row before the sound became a little too samey. For those millions who liked their records....great. They had one hell of a lot of people turned onto (poppy) dance music at one point and probably helped the cause of dance music a great deal.

I have in my (rather eclectic) CD collection something called 'A Ton of Hits' by SAW, It is basically a mix medley of all their records produced around 1990 and from time to time it's not too bad. Their sound was very distinctive - synth/machine heavy - for me personally, at the time I detested it but now I find it easy on the ear and quite nostalgic, but Disco it ain't!

I don't know... The Stock, Aitken, Waterman thing was OK for it's time. I don't think I'd play anything by them if I was spinning right now. But for the time, they were in. Who couldn't like Mel and Kim - If you dance... you'll feel a whole lot better.

By the way Bananarama has a nice track out now with them singing parts from the lyrics of Hypnotic Tango.

Donīt beat on the Kylie stuff!! Hand on your heart & Better the devil you know are classics.

SAW are ok. a lot of crap singles....but hey. letīs leave the "quality-music" to the MOJO-readers...

one fun thing about the disco interest is the gold digging!

    crap albums - great singles!
