"Come Into My Life" by The Supremes Now on CD

The SLOW SLOW SLOW process of getting all those rare Supremes disco cuts on CD creeps along. BBE Records (better known for putting out the fabu "The Kings Of Disco" set from last year) has just released a comp called "Strange Funky Games And Things" which features this cut from Mary Scherrie & Susaye. I bought it solely for said track but was pleased to find Looking Up To You by Michael Wycoff (frome whence Zhane sampled for Hey Mr. DJ) on there as well.

Having never heard "Come Into My Life" I was surprised...a dark, funky, sexy sort of song...nothing like say..."LEt Yourself Go" or my fave "You're My Driving Wheel". I could see playing this as a nice start to a set or in the middle of the night to build mood. Is it Scherrie or Susaye singing lead though?

And can someone refresh me...is Mowtown re-releasing the Supremes 70's output on CD this year...or is that my imagination that thought that!!!

Ooh, thanks for the info -- I've been eager to get this track on CD.

As far as the Supremes reissues -- I assume they would be handled by HippoSelect. In their latest newsletter, they mentioned upcoming reissues for Teena Marie (in fact, they are releasing her debut album on 11/18) and Diana Ross (not sure which ones, but I assume Surrender and Baby It's Me). No mention of the Supremes, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're next! Anyways, I'm excited about the Teena and Diana reissues! :D

oh my god... must get this! Thanks for the heads-up. One of my favourite tracks on that album, so unlike anything else they've done.. Susaye sings lead on that one, apparently she doesn't care for it too much, though..

I'm not sure if it'll be within this year, but the guy in charge of these things, Harry Weinger, says they are planning to release the 70s albums in two box sets: one for the albums with Jean Terrell, another for Scherrie Payne albums.. I read in November's "Ice Magazine" that the upcoming set only goes up to 1973. So, I'm delighted to learn there's a second set to follow! :D
