it may take several cleanings if poorly cared for initially. the cleaning maybe raising dirt from deep in grooves.
why is it that when I try some of the techniques that you good folks have here to clean my vynil the static is ten times louder?
can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
thanks

I hope that is it. I bought majority used and they looked in great shape. but when I play them it seems the needle that I use (stanton mostly) that the static is magnified. thanks for the tip. 8)
I've never had a problem with static when playing my records. To be honest, I didn't even know the problem existed. Could it be your turntable? Maybe it's not grounded properly? Or there's a loose wire inside somewhere creating the static sound? Maybe you could post an audio sample of what the static sounds like when you record a track from vinyl so that someone here can diagnose the problem?
