Please ID These Two Disco Snippets

I've got a couple of disco tracks I haven't been able to ID for sometime. I've ripped them at a low bit-rate (24) so hopefully they'll be clean enough for you guys to ID.

    1. I only have this jungle disco break section, which I taped off of an episode of SCTV. I thought it might have been Plug Me To Death by Erotic Drum Band, but I've ruled that out:

    2. Synth bass disco, sounds like '79 or perhaps '80. Lyrics include "it's a jungle, it's hot":

    Thanks in advance!

Thanks, markydefad! I've been looking for that one for a few years. One down and one more to go.

Question: Why would that break make anyone want to track down the record, as there must be a thousand and one others that are equally as good, if not better?
    Just askin'

I like disco breaks. Some are better than others, but I like all of them. I especially enjoy breaks with a tribal jungle disco feel.

I've been curious about the source of that one for a long time. Even if the rest of the track is cheesy disco sung by Ethel Merman or whoever, I'd still like the break in good quality stereo.

I have two(2) copies of the Erotic Drum Band's "Plug Me To Death" album. Both of them are the yellow version with the knee's.

However, one of them says Mix by Savarese and the song "Action 78" is completely different than the one most of us know.

But on this album, you song #1 is listed as "Action 78". Why? I don't know.

There is a Canadian print of this album that is pink with a girl in a black teddy and garter belts. I sometimes wonder if this is the Canadian version. And still the labels and songs are the same, except for "Action 78".

So to answer the question for your #1 song, I have it, as "Action 78" mixed by Savarese.

    Can anyone explain this?

Wow, I hope that really is the one. I've got two copies now of the album, the Prism one and the Unidisc one. The Prism is all mono and has the Action 78 we all know, and it has the bare legs bent at the knees, while the Unidisc version is in stereo, with the same version of Action 78 and the legs in panties on the cover. What is the label? And do you have the running time available?

I don't know if this is possible, but would it also be possible to hear a short sample of that break? It can low resolution.

    Thanks!

Help me. I'm new on this site.

I have pictures of the lp and label. How do you post them in the message? I have seen pics in other messages.

I have the clips in my computer. How do I post them? Is there a free website that hosts them?

Now in listening to the record, let me say this: the song that is remixed is "Love Disco Style". It is a different mix than on my other (original) Plug Me To Death lp.

The song in the "Action 78" position turns out to be "Plug Me to Death"; the same version as the one on the other side. I checked all sides of both albums before writing this message.

I believe this whole album is a fluke/mess-up with it being wrongly labeled. The label is the blue Prism label listing "Love Disco Style" at a time of 10:13 and "Action 78" at a time of 5:10. It is the exact same label as the original album. But the songs and/or the time lengths don't match up. And the "MIX BY SAVARESE" sticker on the front cover also makes it different.

I think that your clip is "Plug Me to Death" with even maybe something else mixed on top of it. Especially because the clap sounds just a fraction of a hair off the beat. Another break that has similarities to both "Plug Me to Death" and your clip is in the song "Afterdark" by Pattie Brooks which can be found on her Our Miss Brooks album or the Thank God It's Friday soundtrack.

I have a few fluke, mislabeled albums but I also have dozens of other more obscure disco albums and will keep searching.

But if you can help explain how I can post the clips and pics, it would be grateful. Even if you can direct me to where it explains it here on the site.

I live in NYC, if that helps.

    Thanks.

    Neeldlefingers.

I don't know about posting a pic. I think you need to have that pic uploaded to a website somewhere, and then post the link here.

However, you could try www.yousendit.com for the audio, and maybe the pic. You upload it to them, and then paste the link here. That's how I was able to post those audio samples.

As for the LP, unless you have a completely different mix of Plug Me To Death, I'd have to rule that one out. I've got the Prism LP, the Unidisc LP, and the Champagne 12", and while they sound similar, they are different. The track doesn't have the tom tom hits and what sounds like a block of wood hit as heard in the sample I posted. Also, the snare drum is not as loud in the clip I posted as it is on plug me to death (it sounds more like a cardboard box).

    Hey Disco Funk,

Here is the link to a photo of the sticker on my "Plug Me To Death" lp:

    http://s56.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2...L21526T0S8ZN3C

And here is the begining of "Love Disco Style" as mixed by Savarese:

The extra version of "Plug Me To Death" on this lp is just like the one you have, so I won't upload it.

Thanks for your help with uploading samples. I have your snippet and will continue to look for it.

Okay. Thanks for the audio sample and the .jpg. I think that remix of Love Disco Style is also on the Unidisc CD, which has 3 versions of Love Disco Style on it.
