working on more Wally Macdonald tapes that I just received from a friend. I have the Carl Bean version and I'm pretty sure it's not the sample I provided. Wally plays with the pitch several times and the orchestration and the backup singers are different than the Carl Bean version.

The original version of "I WAS BORN THIS WAY" was by Valentino on the Gaiee (I'm not kiddin') label in 1975; Carl Bean covered it later on Motown. This sounds like that--I'm guessin', however.

MARKYS guessing but hes right it is valentino, wonder what happened to him :-? the gaiee label was part of motown sadly after this release there was no more valentino and no more gaiee this got a u.k release too but sales were poor due to a lack of gay clubs here :lol:

That makes sense on the label of the cassette in brackets it says disco classics 1973-76)
