Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3 - Ian Dury & The Blockhead

Please excuse the "S" missing at the end of Blockhead, folks!

    Question to my forum mates:

Was there an extended version of Reasons To Be Cheerful Part 3? I have a promo 12" of it clocked @ 4:53. Back In The Days, I heard a version of it on CBS-FM Radio with a longer version of the guitar solo at the end of the record.

I knew that version wasn't on my copy but wondered did an extended version with the guitar solo existed.

Was it on the version from Stiff Records

A1 Reasons To Be Cheeful (Part 3)
    B1 Common As Muck

Was there a scan of that version available for all to view?

Perhaps you heard the album or 7" version? Especially if it was CBS-FM.

Ah.............. The Uk 12" runs at 6.38. Which is obviously longer. See if you can get hold of a copy. This is the one that came out in 1979. Cat no;12BUY50.
I have seen plenty of copies floating around.

I have a 6.38 min 12" as well. There is a great breakdown of the "Why don't ya get back into bed bit"

    Wow, that's an oldie I haven't heard since '79/'80.
For you younguns, the break in this song was also popularly used by rappers back in the day.
