If it moves - funk it!!
No, the song I was thinking of is from the 70's. Keep trying.
Well, Linda Clifford raps a lyric similar to this in "Runaway Love": "When you hot you hot, and when you not you just not." (Her "you're" sounds like "you" when spoken in Sassy Black Chick.)
Is this the song you're after? (Certainly you're not quizzing us on the Jerry Reed song?!)

Dear nrg-beat!
Sounds like UNYQUE"It´s Hot" from 1979???
Cosmic Love & Kisses From SIRIUS & DARKTUNES
No it's not Linda Clifford or Unique or Jerry Reed.
EASY PEASY! "smackdab in the middle" JANICE MCCLAIN rfc/warners 1979
Discodisk you are correct. It was "Smack Dab In The Middle"
Well, turns out I ID'ed the wrong Linda Clifford song anyway! Since posting my answer this morning, I've had that lyric in my head, and I finally realized I was singing "Don't Give It Up," NOT "Runaway Love"!
Duh.

Speaking of Linda Clifford, has anyone heard the full version of "We're gonna give it up" by Ralphi Rosario featuring Linda Clifford? I only know the edit as featured on the "One night at the Shelter NYC" remix CD
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/.../discomusiccom
Is this a Linda Clifford sampling, or a real new recording?
Bernie: feel free to edit the link - I could not find it anywhere on Amazon USA or CDNow.

This song came out in 1999. Link from here to CDNow, search Ralphi Rosario and then select his "45 Miles of Nerve" CD. "Wanna Give It Up" is on there along with an opportunity to download the full version for $2.49. This 'download opportunity' must be something new with CDNow as I keep seeing it.
