    Erotic Drum Band in stereo?

A number of months ago I bought the Unidisc release of the Erotic Drum Band's 2 LPs. What I found odd was that Plug Me To Death was almost all mono. I think only Love Disco Style was in stereo. So I thought it was a problem with Unidisc, and looked for the original LP. Same problem - Plug Me To Death, Jerky Rhythm and Action '78 are in mono. The Prism 12" of Plug Me To Death/Jerky Rhythm also turned out to be in mono.

Has anyone come across stereo mixes of the above three tracks? I find it odd that songs would be released in mono as late as '78/'79.

Vinyl or the Double CD ??

Is the double CD "Collection" the only CD out there or are there others?

I have two different vinyl Lp's of Action '78 from Unidisc one has a blue label the other a brown label.
The blue label has Love Disco Style (10:13) and Action '78 (5:10) on the A side and Plug Me To Death (7:19) and Jerky Rhythm (9:12) on the B side. Each song plays to a fade out.
The brown label Lp features Love Disco Style(14:09) version on the A side and Plug me To Death,Action '78 and Jerky Rhythm in a (19:52) continuous mix on the B side.

I listened carefully to both Lp's and agree that they are both in Mono. :o :-?

Sorry, I should have specified CD. I don't think they put out an LP version of the same set.

That's unfortunate. Thanks for the confirmation. Its too bad they mixed down those tracks into mono. I think they would have sounded even better with the stereo separation of the percussion. It's really weird they would choose to put out such mixes in the late 70's. The follow-up album isn't as good, but it's completely in stereo.

Oh yeah. I remember buying Thank God Its Friday used about 15 years ago and then being mystified as to why part of it was in mono. I assumed it was just a bad batch, but it sounds like a whole lot of records were pressed that way. I think they accidentally took the one channel rather than mixed down the stereo into a mono. I'm glad I got the CD, not the 'Best of' but the one with all the tracks.

As for the Erotic Drum Band, which label has the stereo pressing? I doubt its Prism since their 12" is in mono.

ok lemme try this reply again since the damn **** screwed up and gave me "page can not be displayed"! Mine is the "Action '78" LP released in Canada, Prism was the US stuff and the LP was called "Plug Me To Death" in the US. Big differences too on the LP. "Love Disco Style" is edited down to a little under 10 mins on the US one and "Plug Me.." is chucked at the end of Side1 and horrably faded out. On the original, Love Disco Style is 14 mins taking up all of side 1, then Plug Me is part of a continuous suite type thing which runs into Action '78 and Jerky Rythym...the label I cant tell you cause I dont remember, but it was a greenish colored label..someone here has to know :)

It probably was Champagne records. I was wrong about my 12" in my original post. It wasn't a Prism records 12". I just dug it out, and it's Champagne records and Plug Me To Death and Jerky Rhythm (spell Rythm) are definitely in stereo. I had listened to them through my speakers and thought they sounded mono, so I re-listened to them tonight with headphones to discover they are stereo.
