It's Gene Chandler's "When you're number one." It was a minor hit by a guy who is not known for disco. In 1961, he had a doo-wop hit with "Duke of Earl" and later moved to Brunswick. That particular track was on Chi-sound I believe. He did some great ballads while there too.
