Wow, I personally have not heard any of these, but then again I am not an expert on the music, just a music Lover!
I'm interested. There have many differences in the mainstream charts between the UK & US and I was wondering whether any of these 70's/80's soul/dance hits were big in the US dance charts.
Blue Feather - Let's funk tonight.
The Limit - Say yeah or She's so divine.
Oneness of Juju - Every way but loose
Positive Force - We got the funk.
Sharon Brown - I specialize in love.
Simplicious - Let her feel it.
Margie Joseph - Midnight lover
Arthur Adams - You got the floor. (What a track!!!!)
Just a few.

The only one I remember was "I Specialize In Love" by Sharon Brown.
swerzer
I know Positive Force "We Got The Funk" (Leticia's got the funk, she's got it...) and She's So Divine by The Limit.

I own Arthur Adams "YOU GOT THE FLOOR " RCA 12" because the guy at the record store in London highly recommended it back when it was hot . Silky smooth and lots of sax ..... Brought it back ... but it never took off here .... :(

Sharon Brown's was a big record in Miami
Just goes to show what supreme taste we had over here. Joking apart, the UK certainly carved a very different path for itself throughout the seventies and eighties. It was much less commercial than the USA and I suspect, the rest of the world, except for Holland.
Arthur Adams is simply one of the very best. That elongated saxy second half is truly sublime dance music of the absolute highest order.
Simplicious too.
Of your list, only Margie Joseph wasn't a real biggie for me.
I can only remember two US 12" imports hitting the top spot in the Record Mirror Soul/Dance chart;
Sharon Brown - I specialize in love and
Willie Hutch - In and out.
I love all those tracks Davi :P but personally I preferred 'Big Strong Man' from Margie's underrated LP 'Ready For The Night'. Whatever happened to Margie Joseph? Her 'Knockout' track from '82 was a really cool piece of boogie too.Originally Written by Davicillo
San Francisco definitely dug Sharon Brown. I know "She's So Divine" also. I've heard Positive Force on some compilations I've bought recently. The rest are not known to me!!

These are true classics and they are among the "créme de la créme" of all times. I've heard them on clubs all over the world back in the old days. Don't know about the mainstream charts..
