Now that AG has gone bye bye, which sites have the best rare disco/dance music available for download?
Which are the worst?

If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Yes I did, the best thing after 'Audiogalaxy' is to 'buy' your music. I have a file of music I 'burned' into my computer through cds to listen to while I am working on it. But that music was 'bought' or was given (through 'promo' copies) to me from the record labels. I have searched (and found) many forgotten or hard to find remixes. Yes I might be a 'promotional copy' but it is ONE copy vs. the thousand of ILLEGAL downloads. I think that no artist/label would mind ONE or TWO promotional copies being traded, but THOUSANDS of files being STOLEN is another topic all together. BUY ther music, support the artist and the label that make the artist available to us and STOP stealing the music through 'downloads'. Support the music or it WILL dissapear. Radio will turn into 'cable tv'-aka 'Satalite Radio'. Scary thought!!
Hi Disco 1999, I went to that site, but I saw only a few actual downloads available. Did I miss something on there? : ) He has a link to his Live program as well, and a list of CDs that he wants to trade on Myplay(?) or something.
Anyway, I've been using WinMx. It's a slow pain in the ass program, but it's been ok for some non-disco oldies (been on a surf/twang kick recently, comes from watching all those Beach Boys/Jan and Dean bios on cable) and I found the Mr. Scruff song from the Lincoln Navigator commercial on it as well.

For me there was no life with Audio Galaxy. It's more like with life after Napster, I couldn't download **** (DJ Phil should be happy). Believe me, I only downloaded songs when no other way of hearing them was possible. But my comments on the downloading issue can be found on the "no more free music" thread, so I won't get into it on this one.
Here's a place where you all might find a program or two that might help:
zeropaid.com
They list Mac and Linux file-share programs as well.

Well let's face it, you obviously didn't explore the full potential of AG and its groups, I have used Napster as well and it would not even come close to AG.On 2002-07-17 19:05, Outsider wrote:

As for the website I've mentioned, only a few tracks are available online.

I've been using a few file sharers such as Blubster, WinMX and IMesh and they are SO DAMN SLOW, plus they have squat compared to what Audio Galaxy offered.
I've recently hooked up with KaZaA and for downloading its efficiency is fantastic, but when it comes to rare disco this sharer doesn't have squat.
Australia mate! The land of many great funkateers!
The reason I didn't use Audio Galaxy is because they didn't have a Mac version (unlike Napster), and when I found out that there was a way for me to use them on a Mac, it was too late.On 2002-07-17 22:01, disco1999 wrote:
