    DONNA SUMMER or DIANA ROSS

Yes, I'm pulling out a heavy weight matchup here.
In one corner ya gots: Boss, Love Hangover, I'm Coming Out, etc. In the other: Bad Girls, Hot Stuff, MacArthur Park, Last Dance, etc.
This is truly a toughie, at least for me :D What woman would make wanna listen to her over and over it I could only have one cd 8)
Damn I just love The Boss. So smooth so right. Bad Girls/Hot Stuff...memories of the clubs, the girls.
OK, for tonight I will go with Diana  8)

I think I've written this before, but anyone who can make Touch Me In The Morning wins the prize. Such soulful, aching, vulnerable, uplilifting, pure sounding vocalise is a rare gem.

So......with much soul searching  .....and hours of painful, guilty mind wrenching.....give me Diana.

Diana Ross had some great dance cuts, but Donna was more into the disco genre than Diana. It's a tough call because Diana was injected with new life in '79 and 80's with tracks like 'Upside Down' when Donna Summer had pretty much peaked with 'Bad Girls'. Both also dabbled in acting, with Diana probably getting the better gigs than Donna's TGIF (I love the movie, but Donna's acting chops weren't really tested).

But getting down to the real test, for me, is who had the better LPs overall? Diana had 'Diana', but Donna had such memorable LPs as 'Love To Love You Baby' and 'Love Trilogy'.

    Donna wins.

Ya knows I loves Miss Ross the most--but as far as DISCO--Miss Summer RULES!!!! No one has as many disco classics in their discography as Donna does. :D

Miss Ross wins for glamour, however.

Yep La Donna is the one for me too. When I saw her live yesterday and when she did Last Dance, the Discomagic of 30 years ago was back in full effect. It just send me into Discohyperspace :D

As for Miss Ross, I like her too but one has to make choices in life, n'est-ce pas?

Donna for me. And not just becuase she did more disco. To me, she just has the stronger voice, no matter what she is singing. I have seen both in concert, and Donna was the one that got me all verklempt.

I like both too but there really is no comparison. Diana was not disco. Donna was.

I'm not a huge Donna Summer fan... I do have my favorites and their listed somewhere in this site.

Because I've been playing LOVE HANGOVER a lot recently.

    I'll take DIANA ROSS

I know Donna is the 'queen of disco' but she did dozens of tracks that weren't disco. Diana did quite a few disco tracks: 'Lovin Livin & Givin', 'The Boss', 'I Aint Been Licked', No-One Gets The prize', Love hangover', 'Im Coming Out', 'Once in The Morning', 'Mirror Mirror', 'Work That Body', 'Ease On Down The Road', 'Your love Is So Good For Me', 'What You Gave Me', 'Upside Down', god the list is endless. Diana not disco - & I'm Ethel Merman. :-?

Donna Summer had a stretch that no female artist had during the Disco Era from 1975-1980. Love To Love You Baby, Try Me, I Know We Can Make It, Last Dance, Rumour Has It, I Feel Love, MacArthur's Park, the duet with Barbara on Enough is Enough, Hot Stuff, Bad Girls and Dim All The Nights were all hits.

Diana Ross accomplishments with a super group was priceless!

As a solo artist, she had some hit records. The big album which had I'm Coming Out and Upside Down was, all CHIC!

Her album with The Boss, It's My House and No One Gets The Prize was a classic!

Mirror, Mirror and Muscles were nice songs!

Love Hangover - what more can I say? A favorite by all!

As for a Disco Artist making records for now, Donna Summer - Power Of Love - Produced by Hani shows that, modern sound!

Diana Ross will be a legend for all times!

Dance Music Hall of Fame - Donna Summer, hands down!
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame - Diana Ross

    It's a Tie!
